Hey,
Something strange here, one of my students found a computer in my network, a windows 2k/xp machine with shared folders. Now i cant c it, but he could, even if i search i cant find it, i also have an xp pro sp1 with ms-networking enabled.
Is there a way he can hide from me? huh.gif Or is there a bug, so i cant see everyone?

Can you explain more your problem?

Maybe this computer is in another workgroup so you can't see him in the Network folders,...

Hi there, i'm that student wink.gif

Well i've just browsed the networking neighberhood and found this compu in an other workgroup,

I think it's becouse you've got Novell Client software installed, becouse since i've installed that i can't see him neither anymore :S

Hope someone can explain why we've got this problem and if it's the Novell Client, how to solve this...

Um, maybe I have a workaround

2xexplorer tends to show hidden shares sometimes (From experience), whether hidden on purpose or through something else.

They may have to be mapped first.

Try it tell me if it works

If not, is there a subnet in place? Some other ideas too, let's see if this works.

You can use this, I compiled it, didn't make it. Just see if the shares show up, don't enter any commands.

It will show all shares on network. The programs actual purpose is removing them, doesn't remove them automatically.

This will test if it's connected.
