Full Version: Removing An Icon From A Program?
Thank you. I downloaded and tried it before and it wasn't working. I guess you have to do "Save As" after you've deleted a resource and replace existing file instead of just "Save". Wierd, but it works. Thanks a million.
I think a lot of these programs are cute that have their own icons, but the skull and crossbones crap really gets annoying to me after a while and would like to tear the icon off of them.
Aside from hex-editing, does anyone know of a good free tool that strips the icon from the executable to make the application size smaller?
Yeah, this program attatched does just the job =). It's called ResHack. Enjoy.
heres another one that does the same thing jst az easy called Exescope. just open the Application [unencrypted & win32] only. then click on resource/icon/whatever
Click File Export and export it to My Documents\Pictures\Where-ever and there you have it. Get Exescope from here Enjoy!
Icon Cool.
i did it this way:
i opened the executable file you need with reshack and opened the icon register. then rightclick end replace. in the replace windows, open the file %windir%/system32/shell32.dll there you'll find the standart .exe symbol <passiw> This is a "lo-fi" version of our main content.
