Programing Smtp Server

Hi People,

I was trying to find an SMTP server engine for my programs...but later thought that why not i code a simple smtp engine in to my code it self...so that i need not depend on an external server.

this would help US in learning coding and also developing INDEPENDENT tools.

hope this would be a good programing exercise.

Can any of you lead me with some help regarding Coding the SMTP engine???

Iam askign about SMTP server....not the client that connects to someother SMTP server and sends mails from there.

i've not posted in months - sorry all

coder, hehe, i'm sure we used to have the same sort of number of posts too

anyway, i've been at uni - and it's a waste of time because it's piss easy, but never mind

what i mean to say... is that i've written one in perl and i'll dig it out for you when i get back home.

Hmm, anyone know one in c, c++, or visual basic. I have some old stuff in visual basic that would benefit from a smpt server.
