I'm currently trying to learn it too, and I found that "C++ a begginer's guide", is bloody brilliant for people who haven't got any knoweldge in languages. It starts with the basics, and moves you through to a level in which you can go off and read all those other books in bookshops that would usually be out of your reach.

i've no idea where to start but the links as indicated by the members above prove to be worth checking. i'm going to start learning too and thank you for the suggested reading material.

Another way i found usfull in learning C++ was searching google for lecture notes from introductory programming units from other universitys

somthing along those lines of "c++ site:.edu"
or "programming site:.edu" ..etc...
andariel
if you wanna get some lecture notes try the MIT OpenCourseWare project on:
http://ocw.mit.edu/
thanx, andariel wink.gif
