Welcome to the board.
First of all this question should of be posted in the windows section. Read up on netbios hacking.
How Ever In Windows Xp If You Are In Dire Need Of Getting Into The System There Is A Simple Non Complex Basic Way But You Are Restricted To Access
When Comp Boots Hold [F8] At Boot Screen. Select Safe Mode. Click On Administrator You Are Now On The System How Ever In Some Cases The Default Administrator Account Is Dissabled.! Good Luck Hope This Helps Best Regards Adam Vast Gsm Team
If its windows 98 hit cancel
stupid windows .....
theres an other way ... which i figured ..... well here how it is ....
run windows xp with a startup disk me/98 watever u like .... copy cmd.exe as winlogon.exe in system32 folder .... ( winlogon.exe is the scr when the black screen comes and the windows xp logo apears in different places) then restart ur computer normally wait a while on the login screen ... the cmd will come up instead of the screensaver ( since u replaced the screen saver ) then u can do net user Administrator * and hit enter 3 times witout entrying the pwd to make the pwd blank ... or u can can type : net user administrator password to change the current password ..... it worked for me when i lost my pwd .... u gotta be on thexp for this (tested on xp pro )
Assuming that the hard drive isn't NTFS....
Thanks man!
Yeah, Windoze 98 is possibly the easiest thing to break into by hand (that I can think of). My cousin wanted to see if I could break into his laptop, so I turned it on, looked at the Win98 login screen, and hit ESC. The next thing he wanted me to do was help him instal a better OS. I thank Microsoft for it's huge and easily exploited security holes.

Windows 98 was never designed with local security in mind, thats why u can by pass the logon. The password comes into play when your running it on a network, so when some1 tries to login to ur pc they get a password prompt. Not that passworded boxes ever stopped any1 from getting into your system
if you have physical access to the machine, you might as well change the Admin PW...
here is a bootdisk that you guys might want to check out... http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/bd030426.zip it's a raw binary image- you're going to need rawwrite (or something similar) to build the disk... boot from that image, and you should be able to edit registry and account info (very useful, for when stupid users forget their passwords
THX for the bootdisk coder
Hacking an XP/NT or 2000 machine is really quite easy all you need is a copy of NTFSDOS pro (if the drive is NTFS and if not then any boot disk will do).
Anyway what u do is boot up in dos and then go into the c:\winnt\system32\config directory and rename the file called SAM to BACKUP (Or something) then boot up the system and all the users passwords (including the Administrator) will be blank. When u have finished to remove all traces boot back with your bootdisk and rename the BACKUP file you created back to SAM as this will put all the passwords back to what they should be. If you actually want to know what the administrator password is then copy the SAM file onto a floppy and then use L0PHTCRACK to crack the password. Hope this helps guys Paul
the link that coder has provided i have used quite a few times but doesn't seem to work well with ones that have Novell installed. For total reliability and laziness i now use Winternals Administrator Pack. But thats for real laziness.
Why dont you people thinking of LINUX BOOT DISK ?.. Pretty cool stuffs, just boot from the CD and reset Admin Password or what ever you want. Well, This will make your life a lot easier than anything.. I had posted the ISO here in this forum long back and you can search for it..
Manu
that's what coder pointed out as well
Coder mentioned about the BOOT FLOPPY, Me, BOOTABLE CD..!!. Simple difference, Lol.. Manu
Once in awhile, the linux boot disk method will blue screen XP after you make your password changes and save them.
I've had it happen about 4 times out of 20 or so
But its the same stuff "in" the CD or the floppy. That's what I was referring to This is a "lo-fi" version of our main content. To view the full version with more information, formatting and images, please click here.
