Okay, this is a nifty trick i found. Fire up good ol' regedit and goto

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt\Parameters

Now, make a DWORD value named 'CrashOnCtrlScroll'. Double click on the value and set it to 1. Exit regedit and restart your computer. To cause windows to crash , simply hold the right hand alt and press the scroll lock key twice.

This is fun to do at school ; I've kept sysadmins puzzled for hours despite it saying it was demanded by user.

In my years of running XP i've only had the BSOD prolly around 50 times... great improvement from win 95/98/ME lol biggrin.gif laugh.gif

ME is an absolute disaster.

Whether I was dialling up to the internet and it disconnects or trying to close outlook, up comes the BSOD.

Is ME in particular prone? Because since Ive been using the girlfriends win98, it hasnt crashed nearly as many times as my old ME system!

Yep, there's nothing worse than WinME. It's like windows 98 with every add-on and unstable bit of software slapped on as default
