Looks like you guys wont have to hear questions like "how do i mod serv-u" NO MORE...
hehe... no more updates for you Serv-U modders\worms\trojans...
+---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
------------------------------------------
Version 6.1 (6.1.0.0)
-------------------------------------------
* Changed code to restrict INI file to ServUDaemon.ini only, it is no longer optional.
* Changed code to restrict EXE file to ServUDaemon.exe only.
* Added support for Windows event logging.
* Added tamper-proofing of the executable to prevent abuse of Serv-U for Trojans.

I figured it would be ok to post this since its not a question about hacking/modding/anything like that with serv-u....GSecur/MODS please remove this of you find that its against the rules...

Thats good news, but as I said on IRC, at the moment there is no reason why the FXPscene would move from the 6.0 to a version that woudl be useless to them, what we need is an exploit that renders 6.0 useless as well. And hey there will just be a new server they will use

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[8:14pm] <GhostShell> well...
[8:14pm] <GhostShell> they will prolly find a new server
[8:14pm] <GhostShell> no more modding
[8:14pm] <GhostShell> modding is not possible
[8:15pm] <GhostShell> with thie new version
[8:15pm]«+ Buzzons » ohright
[8:15pm]«+ Buzzons » i c
[8:15pm]«+ Buzzons » well they could just stick to the old ones
[8:15pm] <GhostShell> yep yep
[8:15pm] <GhostShell> yeah...but
[8:15pm] <GhostShell> if an exploit comes out
[8:15pm] <GhostShell> they wont
[8:15pm] <GhostShell> : )
[8:15pm] <GhostShell> they cant stick with it forever
[8:16pm] <GhostShell> eventually it will be gone for good

you dont think that within the yaer they wont have something better where you can do what you can do with serv-u except better... like i have no doubt about it.... i dont know why tsi a big deall... first you rely on the old versoins.. then when a expliot comes out for them then you just go okay screw it and some hacker or coder will make one that does the job... at leasts thats what i figure.. theres enough hacker/coders out there that will want to take that idea and sell it again or at least make a open source one for all of use to use...

Actually I am hoping that something better comes along pretty soon... and I have no doubt they will have something better...All kinds of people use Serv-U kiddies and non-kiddies. Even I use Serv-U, This happening actually gets me off my lazy azz to go look for a new ftp server

I dont see the new serv-u is a threat to kiddies, they just stick to the ones they have now, and if there comes an exploit again all they do is just hex it and remove the command that makes the exploit possible.
But on the other side, it is a challenge to try to mod the new one...
