I was lying around thinking of ways to send a computer to hell and here were my ideas:
1. Flash the bios with a bogus file <and do not back up the bios> 2. Run a magnet over EVERYTHING 3. Using the control panel, add hardware that doesnt exist 4. Change user passwords 5. Click to every spyware site you can go to 6. Install 100 virii <and the ones that mutate might breed with e/o> 7. Write a little jscript (or vb) prog that makes 1000 popups and then one that you have to answer yes to for it to stop and make it run every bootup 8. Change the language to chinese (or hindi) 9. Glue the CD drive shut 10. <this is very dangerous> put water on the power cable and then some metal filings and then plug in <try not to get shocked> 11. Jam a piece of metal in a slot <pci, ram, etc> 12. Fry the motherboard by taking a car battery and sending a surge of power through it.
Any other ideas?

my fav one was from the jolly roger cookcook a few years ago,
open a floppy disk and get a box of matches, take all the match heads off and stick them to the magnetic tape , add petrol, reseal the floppy and then see if the pc ignites the disk when trying to read it.
great fun.

feed it a cookie... my nephew still retains that the computer said it was hungry. (He mashed it into the floppy and the cd drive.) Some more: Tape the CPU fan. Pull out a capacitor. Connect the IDE cables with the computer on (did this by accident once) Anything with water works Burrying in sand and turning it on directly afterwards submerging the hard drive, remove put it in the fridge wait 2 hrs plug into computer. connect it to a lightning rod grounding wire. While your at a skyscraper doing this, just toss it out the window somewhere above the 10th floor. create a batch script to partition the drive for a few hours/days overclock and remove all fans

QUOTE(shell6 @ Jun 26 2005, 12:04 PM) 2. Run a magnet over EVERYTHING I actually tried that one once, it didn't work out. I have a rather big magnet around here, I tried to kill one of my hdds. didn't work, windows was still booting up fine. So what did we learn? Devil > Magnets. Apart from that, nice thread and some really interesting ideas

1. Get a screw driver and start shorting out random gaps on the motherboard whilst its on.
2. Blow the PSU by flicking the voltage switch to 120 (if you use 240).
3. Overclock the processor and unplug the processor fan.

that only works on AMD's, intel cpus will slow down to keep temp down

that only works on AMD's, intel cpus will slow down to keep temp down this isn't true, my pc shuts down if the pc temp is to high just use a good mainboard maybe u guys should use a nuclear bomb to destroy the pc...

Turn off the critical system temperature in bios then.
tibbar
Jul 4 2005, 06:47 PM
nope its a feature of intel cpus. they have their own temp montor, which forms part of the "overheat protection system".
hence u cant fry an intel, no matter what you do (unless you literally stick it in the frying pan).

install a kernel driver that will:
a. seek out all flash bios chips on the pc (e.g. actual bios, sound card, video card, NIC)
b. repeatidly write junk to each memory address on each flashable chip about 20,000 times, killing each chip;
c. repeat step b for the MBR on the Hard disk (s), but repeat 1,000,000 + times.
Finally, to ensure the pc will never live again, bring it to PC World and ask them to give it a healthcheck.

I have 2 ideas that I have seen on a printer and a keybord: 1) Put 2 money into a Cofee machine and take 2 cofee. 2) Put one cofee into the printer and another into the keyboard. 3) Turn on the computer, the printer and see what appends.

Tibbar interesting about the intels having that protection built in ... would the intel processors protect against putting the voltages way up? I think lobbing a load of metal filings into the running pc should do a little damage. Block of thermite on the top will handle it quite nicely also. Just a rumour but they arent too keen on EM either I dont believe (anyone know that site with the how to of making an EM pulse emitter out of canabilised stuff like microwaves?) I think the Solar Death Ray will handle it too (http://www.solardeathray.com/ look at the shoe in the gallery).

ok i`ll come up with a few creative points myself: * take it to a public place and put a sticker on it simply "BINLADEN INSIDE"(guarentee 100%) * take it with you on hiking, slip if off (guarentee 100%) * tie it with a rope to your corvette and drive it for an hour (guarentee 100%) * take it to the nearest karate school and replace it with a sandbag (guarentee 100%) * place C4 instead of the cpu (guarentee 100%) * paint circles on your unit practice your shotgun targetting (guarentee 100%) * try connect to FEDs with invalid passcode (guarentee 100%) * you can fry eggs in a pan but ever tried it on a motherboard? (guarentee 90%) * mix 1 litre pepsi with 200gms salt and 1 bottle of ketchup. boil the mixture and pour it on the cpu (guarentee 100%) * leave it at the jungle, hunters`ll probably think coloured snakes are newly formed species out there (guarentee 100%) ...etc anybody likes my ideAZ?

Install the most destructive and widely spread spyware ever... AOL Even after I uninstalled AOL to get broadband, its services still started up in msconfig. (And they're about 8 of em) It installs other programs u don't need, like wildtanget games and weatherbug. It has a bad habit of hiding in obscure folders so you won't delete its software.(For instance its so called "spyware removal") And most shocking of all is it's AOL For Broadband package that makes you pay about $25.00 a month for an AOL browser over your broadband connection.(purchased seperatly) I'll step of me soapbox now. AOL would send your computer to HELL.
