Fedora Directory Server?

I was just wondering what the advantages/disadvantages of the Fedora Directory Server would be. I have not used it at all, but im trying to gain some comparison between that and a Windows Domain Controller.

Is it similar in controlling users and groups?

Any thoughts or explanations that anyone could give would be great.

Im pretty sure its from the new Fedora Core 4. Has anyone tried it out yet? I will probably download it tonight sometime.
