well, i am wondering how people do this..
i tried a bit myself, with hex editing etc, but i don't get it to work :/
This is not about hacking, i am just wondering how people succeed in renaming it.

Marking the File and pressing F2

If you want to edit its service name or anything else(im not familiar whit this .exe) then hex editing should do the trick.

lol
you but it doesn't boot then.
Also there asn't a "real" service name, so you need to use svrany or services.exe
but what i want to know, what to edit so it will run under a diffirent name then ioFTPD.exe
(tried hex editing, but no succes..)

if you rename it, it won't work. There's no need to rename it. It's also a protection for those who want to hide its name to use it to create stro.

It is probably an older version of ioFTPD which is cracked. Only the cracked versions (aka registred) can be renamed. Otherwhise ioFTPD (unregistred) will terminate itself when .exe is renamed. If I am right 5.2.15r is latest cracked version and latest version is 5.8.5r(?)

In 5.3.9 you could rename it, with registered version, it's a protection now in last releases.
But why do you want to rename ioftpd ? it's not a hacking board ^^
