well, the GDI+ thingny comes from the latest vulnerabilities posted by Microsoft....althought I don't understand why it would jump out like this....

I don't believe you can be scanned for such thing, but I could be wrong....

check MS04-028 for more info smile.gif

Edit : Just noticed you were on a MS page....it could explain all of this !

[12:37] ... Quits: gov~andydis [andydis@blah.blah.com] (Client quit)
[12:51]  (Daguilar01) yesterday when i formatted and did windows update
[12:52]  (Daguilar01) from what i can see, that gdi tool checks your .net, ms office and stuff for vulenrabilities
[12:52]  (Daguilar01) so when it doenst find a product to check
[12:52]  (Daguilar01) it gives that error message
[12:52]  (Daguilar01) cause when i get that message, was after a format, and i didnt have ms office or .net installed
[12:52]  (Daguilar01) at least, thats why i think it gives that pop up
[12:52]  (Daguilar01) makes sense for me, lol
[12:53]  (gov~br0mstar) i think it's a check tool from ms for the ne 04-28#
[12:53]  (gov~br0mstar) new
[12:53]  (Daguilar01) yeah, thats it is
[12:53]  (Daguilar01) it installs with windows update

so i dont think you have anythign to be worried about, if its poping up everytime you restart, i guess you could install .net framework to get rid of it by giving it something to check

I have read some pretty big problems people are haivng with that patch for 028. One guy said that no one could log onto their PC's anymore once patched. The only way it would work again, was, if he logged in as administrator the first time, and then rebooted, they could log in then.

OK if you have 5 users, no good if you have 5000.

i have 2 pcs that i installed it on, apart from getting that message on one pc once, i dont have any probs at all with it
