hey there i been working on some SQL's and came across this problem when trying to exec XP_CMDSHELL command it gives an error [Cannot load the DLL xpsql7O.dll, or one of the DLLs it references] i know it could be either someone has renamed the file or deleted it from the master database the xpsql7O.dll file is needed to rune the command which are passed to the master database
well to cut the story short is there any way to either run command remotely or restore the xpsql7O.dll file which would bring back the xp_cmdshell????

Just been reading as long as you have a sa a/c you should be able to reinstall the missing XP's
i am only guessing but you would have to find a extended stored procedure and then copy the missing file accros.

I'm not sure if there is a way to do that. Another reason why it may not be working is because thay made a seperate account for MSSQL, and are not using the system account (which is a good thing) so MSSQL doesn't have rights to access xpsql70.dll

i seen some place it does say that SQL database has the procedure stored in the master database so no matter which account you use as long as u get access to the master database u should be able to access it, but to prevent hacks they some times remove the *.dll files not sure how to put them back remote dont think there is a way
its good to read
