Mozilla Firefox is a pretty cool browser
its well worth checking out if you want a safe alternative to IE
it has some neat functions like tabbed browsing, a download manager & it also blocks popups & active x

I used , mozilla , IE , opera and several linux browsers.
best one i've seen is mozilla. opera seems good, but i've found it gives websites bad looks, olso javascripts can be funny on it.
Mozilla over IE beczuse of it's safety. (tho a new hole has been found resently ).
If you want to have the browser that shows webpages best, it's still IE. other browsers have weakers support for javascripts, css.

Get opera as well, and boycott www.msn.com as they put code on their site to make it look crap in any other browser other than microsoft IE6 before courts ordered them to remove the code, opera has an active community who can help you with things such as tech support and the ad based opera is completely free and you barely notice the banners up top (there arent popups) and there are certain ways round the adverts, like paying a one off fee is one example and there are other methods involving your HOSTS file and 127.0.0.1 (or another site of your choice to display instead of the ad) but I wont go into that now!! (might get in trouble, dont think they condone things like that here (mods please remove this post if I have gone to far already (I tried to remain ambiguous)))

I cant believe some of you has been using IE.. I simply cant live without tabbed browsing. I've seen the avant browser and it got some nice features firefox lacks but im sure it will come araound. Avant is btw a upgrade to IE so it still sucks ;p Check out some of the extensions for firefox too.

in IE there is an option in tools>internet options>security tab>internet>custom level
I believe it is safe to run IE, it's been quite for a while and I've heard about no new exploits for it
