Is there a specific location in the registry where I can change the name of a service, and its description when viewed in services.msc?

go to registry HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

i guess all there's left to say is... right click > properties works too (but, of course, not if you're not "able" to get at it)
