i think that there will be more holes in 2003 than in 2k in a few month.
today you only get exploits 4 win2k or XP but not for the older ones.
thats my opinion

there are some other possibillities
1. close the holes
2. get a firewall
3. get linux smile.gif

I don't see why it shouldn't work. Windows 2003 default installation already comes with Large LBA support enabled so your 160Gb hdd will definitely work. I'm not sure what the minimum spec of the processor required but it seems adequit. Give it a try m8...I would...

You're right in saying that there havn't been so many exploits for 2k3 because it's newer, but Microsoft have also implemented a number of new security measures, like stack protection, which makes exploitation of a found vulnerability very difficult if not impossible.

Well,

Option 1.

Use Windows 98 Second Edition and Sygate personal firewall. And AVG antivirus free edition. Cool, you got a relatively speedy system to use for basic surfing or running basic applications for you.

Option 2.

Think of a Linux Distribution that suits you. Then forget about "holes" biggrin.gif

i was talkin about terminal services and database managament...

SeNSeMaNN make backups of ur win2000
and then install win2003 but remember most bugs of win2k are in win2003 also
so give win2k a second chance with fw,av etc
