Full Version: Another Pathetic App
yamahacal
Well I really like fport. I would like it even more if it wasn't a command line tool. The thing is, its a windows application why shouldn't it have a handy GUI? Thats the whole point of windows, all show and no go laugh.gif So I found some source code by this fellow, marcopipino@libero.it that had what I needed. I added some radio buttons and a few other tweaks and before I knew it I had a handy little GUI for fport. I hope there are others out there like myself that find typing stuff in DOS a waste of time when it can be done so much quicker and just as effectively graphically.

This file includes Fport and the Interface for it.

do u have the code of this prog mate, I'm developing frontends for several commandline apps in vb and I'm searching for one like this that outputs the results in a listbox/textbox or rtf and not just run the prog in cmd.

you guys know the funny part with the port mappers?
All the free ones fail on some OS. fport for example doesn't work with NT nor with Win2k3 Advanced Server.
the only free one which worked on every OS I tried it on is opports from hf.
and whats the problem about it? opports gets deleted as virus because he created rootkits with the same technique. still it's the best free portmapper and I think its opensource aswell.

hey nice tip there killaloop, ill do some googling for it smile.gif

about the fportGUI, nice work but id rather stick to the console version (or build fport into me trojan)

Yes, opports is the only free one which works on every OS. Well, you can google for it (or just grab it from the hf's site as well), but here's a version from my very private collection (lol) who doesn't seem detected -at least- by KAV. (I hope they will understand one day it's STUPID to delete such usefull admin tools -yes mister kaspersky, not only hackers are using opports and other great command line tools like that...-)
Btw, if this one doesn't do the job, you can at least get the source and make your own opports...
