It uses an encrypted .zip M$ can't detect it unless they spend time cracking it. M$ or anyone else for that matter, would have to block all .zip's, but there users would get upset. I suppose one could try brute forcing the password with words contained in the e-mail. It takes expensive clock cycles and ram to decompress a file. If this method became more popular than worms could easily get more complex by adding a lot of junk in the body of the e-mail.

You should have an AV, try and figure out what variant it is. Post it somewhere.

Thats my 2 cents.

Dear friend,

U r using Windows, right?

Do this,

1.Do updates always
2.Find a nice Antivirus.... Go to www.grisoft.com , you can find one free Poweful AV...
3. Install a FIREWALL... Go for ZONE ALARM or SYGATE.. Everything is free.

Please do not open files with extensions .PIF, .EXE, .SCR etc... These days, you can see them as ZIP files too.. Well well, usually these ZIP file size is 20 to 40 KB... Take care while opening ZIP files in that Size, Make sure that it is something what you are expecting, Otherwise delete them straight away... Sometimes HOTMAIL , Sorry, Mccafee Will tell you that ATTACHMENT is virus free... Hoooooooooo, damn, you are trapped.... So, take care man... Try using Linux, You will link it..

A while back i heard about an email virus going around that didnt have any attachments at all the code for the virus was in the email it self and somehow infected people just by looking at the email itself. The eamil was all jiberish of course because it was the virus code. I think this would be a valuable concept to understand. Sorry if this has already been discussed.

---My Hypothisis: The code is injected into the memory upon reading and executes from there.

I was thinking about that when the newer IE sploit came out. I figured it was a type of html or someshit. If so then any outlook that autoopens emails could be effected.
