it's a beta, maybe that's the problem. Does it the same on other pc's?

no but it does the same whive dsns.exe and other ...

what sort of program is missing on the winnt to lunch these gui software ?

Just a thought but if thats Windows98/ME then xscan v3.x isnt supported and ive read alot that it does that. Hope that helps if u using those OS.

The answer is pretty explainatory. You will only encounter such stuff when a software attempts to call a non-existant method/function from a dll file.
