<phycho> eTec TELNET SECURITY VULNERABILITY

<phycho> eTec (Conexant Chipset)

<phycho> I noticed with my old firmware above that I had ports 254 & 255 open did not think

<phycho> much about it at the time, also noticed in this post that some people have been having

<phycho> there adsl connections reset or box being reset to factory default at random intervals.

<phycho> heh

<phycho> Port 254 is actually a telnet port if you have old firmware you can telnet into your

<phycho> router box with e.g Start > Run > Telnet 10.0.0.2 254 it asks for passwork just hit

<phycho> enter and your in, this is valid for WAN aswell. From this menu people from the WAN

<phycho> side can reset your box.

aapje
