plz do a search on this forum, there was a big topic about it some time ago, it was a md5 hash, and you had to remove the first 2 bits, then you can decrypt it with a md5 program (cain lc4.. )

Secondly, do not reply to posts with things that are of no relation just because you cant start a new thread.

Hi, does anyone know where in the servudaemon.exe to find the /i command. How can i edit it, so servu automaticly installs as a service, without /i
Thanks!

i don't think lc4 would be of any use 4 md4/5 encryption, watch what ur typing:S i want to ask which one is best? john the ripper or mdcrack 1.2? i know mdcrack supports salt chars, but does jtr support too? if so what is the command for jtr to break an md5 hash with 2 salt chars?

well cain is great. Its fast and efficient but i dont think it support salts so that means its gotta crack the length+2. What program can actually put the 2 salts in front and work with the rest? i tried the mdcrack but i didnt find how it works with the salts.

Thanks for the info, I have only used LC4 and I love it. Never ran into Salts? So I guess I dont need mdcrack.... What are Salts? Thanks for the learning material.

well thats pretty easy
mdcrack -M MD5 -b <salt here><hash here>
example: mdcrack -M MD5 -b ii 8B6F37F79503316E5EDA86AF450C9ED8
Guess its clear now
