Hey guys. Well I was putting win2k on one of my clients computers. Half way through the instalation right when its installing the registry files a error comes up and says.....
CODE
An exception occurred while trying to run "C:\WINNT\System32\WBEM\wbemupgd.dll,RUNDLLENTRY

I have never seen this error before. It is a brand new custom. I run everything and it seems to be ok. But I dont want them to come back to me with a bluescreen of death dry.gif . So if you guys have runned into this problem before and have a solution I would be very thankfull.

since i live in persia and we dont have any copyright law

we have all windowses in about on cd from 3.x to xp profisional+sp1
and the cost is about 2$ funny yah ?!

and also we have the win2003 for just 2 $

so i setup win2k just evry 2 weeks or i change my box to another win2k version or another nt family
but never seen this error

i think the problem is due to the bad extraction from cd when you are setuping the windows

the orignal file should be 64 kb

doh persia is my town ... bad things happend in germany :/

well, regarding the problem.
it might sound stupid, but windows does strange things ...
there are some bugs in Systems Management Server which will cause a similar error when a certain user name is taken (Administrators, ...)
This bug is fixed in the latest service pack along with many other "nice" things.
But well thats one of the nicest bugs. internal error because you used Everyone as username smile.gif
microsoft screwed up on this.
If you have installed latest service packs your costumer should be happy with his box (as happy as someone using windows could be).
Also note this only happens on Non-English versions of Windows 2000.

Maybe this is something,
mr_quick
maybe ur online, m8 microsoft can easily track you or ur computer whether the os you have used is a licensed. Because i experienced this a while ago after my installation of my windows 2000 advanced server. It displays a counter that counts from 30-1 to shutdown. When installed a mcafee firewall, a dll file from winnt directory has been detected trying to access the internet. And im very sure that it was one of the winnt system files since no other applications installed.
