All the IPC scanners sometimes give fake results. I sometimes found 20 [null] admin passes. When I checked these in DameWare, the results always were primairy domain controllers. Dunno why IPC scan logges these ass succesfull...

I have never suceeded with ipc scan remotely. I've tried many different softwares, but it seems like it doesn't work unless you're physically logged in.

if you use xscan, it works quicker if you make first portscan, and than give the host file to the xscan.
on the other way for remote is the fxscanner with ntpw and sql better.

Problem with ntscan is that there isn't (at least i haven't observed) a command line version of it.

ntscan sucks because it freezes when u feed it big ranges.
xscan is ok but is too slow
my favourite is IpcScan v2.0
and ScanSQL for mssql scanning
both are fast command line scanners, scanSQL is a bit unstable but beats the other sql scanners out there

Mar 30 2004, 01:57 AM
iu sugest using hscan as IpcScan v2.0 is detected as a virus, unless some 1 has another version they want to share..
as for that fxscanner nt vesion thing, ive never even seen it, so if some 1 has it why dont they share it with us

Mar 30 2004, 03:05 AM
Yeah , Ntscan freezes when u feed in a a whole range like x.x.1.1 x.x.255.255
I find teh commandline version of hscan freezes too or pops up an error message.
But for someone in here who wanted a commandline version of NTscan just pm me I'll send you the exe . Can't upload files

the commandline version unfortunatly gives u a shit load of fake results that dont work.
People need a good commandline scanner, xscan gives fakes also
anyone have that fx scanner ipc version so we can try it out

Have you ever wondered why X-Scan is slow? It's because unlike other scanners that uses a text file containing the username and a text file containing the passwords, X-Scan practically tries to retrieve the available users logins for the scanned computer and matches them against the computer. This may take time to retrieve over the IPC$. That's why it's slow
