and those are exactly who shouldn't be here....
this is a security forum where you can learn about exploits and how to protect yourself
this isn't supposed to be a place where you can download pre-compiled exploits so you can make auto-hackers for it ph34r.gif
also not things like "here is a step-by-step guide how you can make your stuff more difficult to find out cuz it's illegal"
you don't learn anything from that

i don't mean to flame but i'm just getting really tired of al there skiddiez in here who are talking about serv-u and auto-hacking and then they think they're "into security"
d0whc3r
thx for the file ill take a look smile.gif

<snip various phrases>

Dear Bob,
Why don't you spend more time helping new people in any forum instead of giving others grief for it. If someone sat down and wrote a simply worded explanation(a good example is the sql injection tut i saw awhile back(cheers for that one btw whoever did it)) of more things related to security perhaps more people would develop a genuine intrest in learning.

Its very easy to complain, but when was the last time(and I havent looked you could be teacher of the year) you taught someone something.

P.S. Please note this post was allowed to sit while i did the meditation of calmness before i replied hence the snip.

hehe
but i'm just getting annoyed by all those noobs posting crap like custom servu's and how do i install servu etc.
just look in the trash... it's full of it
and i don't like the fact that all these skiddies who don't give a f*ck about security just come here and copy/paste some batch scripts (and don't know what they're doing) and then 'hack' comps; install serv-u and let they're auto-hackers just root another comp
i don't mean to offend you, but knowledge like this you should find out by yourself; not in a step-by-step guide or something (it's better for the understanding of how a program acts)

and don't get me wrong; i like security
but not like this

but well... i'll just stay quiet next time tongue.gif
i'm too lazy for more posts like this rolleyes.gif
and haha, my name is not Bob laugh.gif
just didn't want to use my real nick in here
don't wanna get recognized wink.gif

*boooooooring*
ComSec
sometimes its good to know how things are created ... because it also helps security admins to combat the problem or know what to look for... then again good come's with bad as in all security forums...depends on how you use the infomation provided here...

but yes the serv-u is getting a bit much because its so easy to modify
Yorn
I gotta ditto what ComSec just said.

Basically, the thing that makes this place good is that the script kiddies DO post here. I can view these forums and know exactly what someone is trying to do, cause someone here has already tried it first. Or asked about it. That's the power of this site.

I don't mind that the people that I am trying to stop from taking over the machines where I work are posting here because by letting them post here, I know what is going on. Documents like this one teach new little hackers how to do what they do, yes, but it also gets them prepared for the point in their lives when they switch over and play on the other side of the fence.

This place is what it is BECAUSE of the warez folks and etc, not despite them.

hmm, that's another point of view
kinda right though
just BECAUSE these skiddies are posting tuts warez-related the security people will know how to "defend" themselves... hmmm, haven't looked at it that way wink.gif

but still, 10 serv-u threads all going about the same... blink.gif

Yeah, you can feel free to complain about that, it kind of bugs me too.

But Nexcess is trying to be helpful here, and he/she made this as an original work. That kind of contribution is essential to the growth of these forums. What if (and trust me, this is a huge "what if") some of the largest botnets were being created by users in these forums?

Not only would it be essential to know how they were doing it, but it'd be essential to know what kinds of files to look for on their zombies. So if they make a post about their "netcatloader.reg" file not working, then what do you set your corporate AV software to look for? Why, that file of course. smile.gif

It's a game of cat and mouse. We can't rely 100% on the AV vendors to do our jobs for us. Especially when we know (from using this forum) that people are creating easy workarounds for them.
