I was hacked recently(stupid but i learnt my lesson ), but what was strange was the guy was using version 2.5.4.2 and the hash was NOT an MD5 hash like it usually is:
[USER=Upload] Password=ywFzOdgQG26ic
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify which cipher this is

Ah, I believe its DES - sorry i decided to go wwith a hunch and check using jtr
nice try - thats for the newer breed of serv-u hashes whcich are MD5 not DES

It the same encrypts that old linux used. If you looking to crack it, try "jack the ripper"
