Try to google for Brutus
its a powerful password bruter which is also able to use a dictionary file.
you can even set your own settings for bruting winshell passes for example.
its really nice

1) if the password is entered more than 10 times wrong usuually it will block the account.
2) if alot of connections come from the same ip it could ban you.

The best bruteforcer i know is Hydra, from THC. IMHO much better than Brutus (much more stable) and version 3.0 can even support resumed attacks. A MUST for anyone attempting bruteforce.

sure its stable cause brutus is for windows and thc-hydra is for unix, isnt it?

yeah hydra is for *nix only. but i think thc made a windows brute forcer also, can't remember the name... check their site thehackerschoice.com
