Not a security question i know but i didnt know where else to go and i know some of you guys on here have a broad knowledge.

I downloaded a patch for a program and instead of starting an installer it just brings up a dos window saying it is too big to fit in memory or something is there nayway i can start setup and import it or use open with or something

If the installer is a self-extracting archive you could try opening it in WinRAR or WinZip. That method has worked for me before when I've needed to use it.

Also, if it's wanting to run in DOS you could try altering the amount of memory it can use. Sorry but I can't remember how to change this at the moment as I've never needed to alter it. I'm sure someone else here could give you some help.

I use astrum install wizard, preety easy to use and you can customise a number of things eg install icon, reg entrys etc also you can make the install run silently wink.gif
