I'm probably way off topic here, but there doesnt seem to be a section to discuss encryption.

I am writing the encryption classes for a future RAT, and I was hoping to get some input from GSO on the legality of strong encryption.

The client / server comm is going to be encypted using 512bit hashes, which is way above the current standards, and hopefully will stay bruteforce proof for a long long time.

The RAT will be open source, and publically available.

Since one of the co-authors is based in the US, we need to be sure that we are not violating US laws on encrpytion strength for export.

Can anyone express their views / knowledge on this subject?
