arun0075
Hey now every1 on IRC is using ShoutCast to publish a radio for there channel. So even i wanna go for it. I tried making my PC as a server but f**k my connection is too slow so it lagss like helll. Then i got a idea why not to use a Fast Bot in my channel to make it as radio. Well but one problem how will i change songs. How will i change setting. hmmm.. lots of problems rite.

So i searched on GOOGLE for ShoutCast bots but no great help. Can sum1 tell me how can i make a ShoutCast bot so that i can run a radio for my channel smile.gif

Thank You In Advance

Easy way: termserv, or if its console use cmds.. batch script maybe
Hard way: use some hiding procedures and API calls to activate the button that changes songs etc.

Go with termserv.

Ok well first you can't create a "ShoutCast Bot"... as... you are just trying to setup a shoutcast server on one of your bots. Secondly, "termserv" i the process name for "Terminal Services." If this services is started on the remote computer, and has the appropriate files needed (in Win2000), you can login to the computer through "Remote Desktop Connection" which comes installed with windows. This allows you to view the desktop of the remote computer (a whole new desktop, not shared with a user which is already logged in a.k.a. radmin). Keep in mind you must have your own account on the remote computer, or you must know one of the Administrator password, as you will need to login before you will be able to do anything.. obviously wink.gif. Also, remember that the server administrator will be able to get your IP address easily if he catches you while you are still logged in to terminal services. This can be prevented with certain precautions. Simply using a proxy with SocksCap will not work, because the server administrator will still be able to see your ip in tsadmin. This is because when you connect, your own compouter sends the ip address it gets locally to the remote computer. This can also be prevented by connecting while you are behind a router, so that in tsadmin the administrator will see your ip as something like, "192.168.1.xxx"... and with a "netstat," the administrator will see the ip address of the proxy server you are connecting through. This may sound like a lot of work just to connect remotely... but i dunno, i guess im paranoid about that stuff. Anyways... yea, im wondering right now if you understood any of that, since im bad at explaining stuff right now cuz of lack of sleep sad.gif

Let's just emphasize that this is something that is impossible since
eggdrops cannot stream audio.
You will need to install somekind of streaming server.
The terminal server plan is just ludicrous.
Also for windows 2000 you DO have to install a terminal service client
which can be found in the Client directory on a terminal server.
The remote desktop application is only integrated in XP.
To keep it short, there is no such thing as a shoutcast bot,
if you still want to stream either stream lowbitrate so i wont buffer all the time
or get a shoutcast shell somewhere and do it the proper way.
You could make an announcebot for that if you still feel the urge
to use eggdrop wink.gif

why such a hard way. I installed the console version on my PC configurated the *.ini and then uploaded the exe the ini and hidden32.exe then just started the exe with SITE EXEC hidden32.exe .........
or didn`t I understand your problem?
BeNiNuK
heh? just get the shoutcast server config it all then just run the dj proggie on ur pc and stream the songs from ur pc to the server, and the server will send it out, my fraind can dj on his isdn so im sure u can do it!
The Storm
even if you have a 56k modem u can stream with 48kps. withj ISDN u can stream at 64 kbps and with DSL u can stream at 128 kps but the best is 56kbps or 64kps. If it`s a good server u can stream at 96 kps but more than 96 is not good! I always stream at 56 kbps with my DSL.
BeNiNuK
yeah im on 1mbit cable so i normaly stream at 128 / 192 depends on who is listening and what im running it for.
The Storm
yes thats wat i wanted to say. if you stream at 96 kps e.g. users with ISDN and normal modem cant listen cause they only have 48 / 64 kps.
SKyLiNe
How about a shoutcast relay server? Stream single 128kbs stream to the relay
and multiply this to like 10*128kbs streams dependant on the relays bandwith?
Goodluck wink.gif
The Storm
what do you mean? a server thats a copy of the original but runs with less kbps. I know that works but u need another good server for this! This would be an ISDN Stream and a DSL Stream. It works fine but 1 stream is enough I think at 56kbps it's a good quality to listen to.

Why not check first before you post. If you did you'd know that good stro (don't like hacking? substitute with ftp server) runs under SYSTEM (don't ask me why) and does not need hidden32.exe because it has no console for output to begin with! And even if it does run under user account (don't ask me why you'd want that) it stills needs to be specially configured in your services.msc tab to show output on your own console.

Completly OT but people should know.
