There are many good ftp prgrams to use . Many people here use serv-u ftp while many other use io ftpd . its is really up to you and which ftp program you like best . I myself use serv-u because i like the remote admin program .

You've got lots of choices in this area... serv-u is definitely the most commonly used ftp, because it is simple and easy to use. On the other hand, ioFTPD is a GREAT (and my favorite) ftpd with site exec features and the works... but it can be troublesome to setup, as well as hide to use as an everyday backdoor... There is also RaidenFTPd, Bulletproof FTPD, and some others, but those are the main ftpd's that people use as backdoors smile.gif

Serv-U is good to use as backdoor, cause it's easy to handle and it supports the "SiTE EXEC" command.

ioFTPD is very powerfull, but can be hard to configure.

i will recommend Serv-U as backdoor, but ioFTPD would be perfect if ur running ftp that other ppl should have axx to also. ioFTPD has very cool features. smile.gif

You need to set the right permissions for that user.
You can set upload permission, read, deleed, exec...
Check you're serv-u help.

501 Permission denied. ???

is ur ftp up and running??
if so yes u need to add to ur account right premission u can do modding the ini manually ..but better to mod ur rights via servuadmin interface be sure to add
all rights:

in the ini u'll see somewhere:

Access1=C:\|RWAMELCDP
Access2=D:\|RWAMELCDP
Acc....
....

whit RWAMELCDP all setted u'll have all right to do all u need with ur server

all this if ur using serv-U smile.gif

Serv-U doesnt support any get commands. To be honest I don't know of an FTP server that does! Are you getting mixed up with the Windows FTP Client? The only command I know for getting files is RETR (retrieve), and STOR for storing files. The Microsoft Windows FTP Client (ftp.exe) munipulates commands you give it and sends them to the server eg. It will change get [filename] to RETR [filename] and store it in your current working directory or directory specified after the filename. Same as the put command - just makes it a little more user friendly.

Hope that cleared some things up.
