Code Red II Removal Utility
This tool was the first Code Red II removal utility. We strongly advise any Windows 2000 user running IIS 5 who has been infected by Code Red II to download this tool, because applying Microsoft's patch does Not remove the worm from a compromised system.
Note that Code Red II does backdoor an infected system, which means its security may have been compromised deeper than immediately apparent. If a system has been exposed for a significant period of time, and no integrity-checking IDS is present, it is advisable that the hard drive be reformatted and the server restored from a backup prior to the infection.
