Hi there, I've been looking for some time, for a silent version of dyndns updater.

I've tried there website, and all the linked programs. Aside from making my own program to do this, does anyone have a version that can be installed from the command line, and is silent?

The uses of this are obvious and well discussed on the forum in the past.

One method you can use is to install perl on the target machine and then use one of the many perl dyndns updaters.

I also believe there are a number of tools on this sight that will upload ip information to a website.

I use this site myself. I do not understand what you mean by silent though. I have a friend who works there, so if you can explain more, I will ask him personally.

well with no-ip u can configure it to run as a service - ie no icons and notification
installing might be another matter altogether

By silent, i mean a dyndns prog that can be remotely installed on machine, via cmd.exe and will not alert the target pc to the installation...and wont have any icons in taskbar etc.

i.e. trojan dyndns.

It's been done before, e.g. the new trojan Hue (see http://huerat.tk). But i dont want to install hue, i'd prefer to have a standalone dyndns updater.

BTW hue is not a bad RAT, its undetected at the moment, cuz its new. It works by revcon SIN, which can be anomynous if used via dyndns with proxy.

I dont really want to install perl...what i'd really like is to see some source code to a dyndns updater, so i can make my own.

goto the dyndns site and check the free updaters. AFAIK they have some open source ones. shouldn't be hard to code one.
