dont use specific targets in your questions, use different ways of indirectly asking the question, but thats only a suggestion :0)
coder
set up a filter that only shows Yahoo Transmissions and then run the sniffer... I like ethereal! and it comes with all kinds of pre-made filters like AIM and ssh smile.gif -> NOTE: you can only sniff data that passes by your nic.

Iris looks like, but it runs 1000 dollars ... unelss you can find a pirated copy somewhere, of course.

Ethereal would have to be my choice as well since it tells you everything you could possibly want to know about each packet captured.

And to quote coder again, you can only sniff traffic on your local lan, assuming that you are connected to a hub and not a switch. Well, you can sniff traffic even if you're connected to a switch using ettercap.

and a side note, I use aimsniff to sniff AIM traffic smile.gif
netmatrix
Try CAPSA this is a good software and sniffs out password's.U can download it at digital eye smile.gif .The next one u can try is sniffer pro .

2 ways:
1) use s sniffer and use a proper packet filter to sort things out
personally i love win/tcpdump since it exists for windows and linux
and dice to decode - analyze the packets
2) use snort (intrusion detection system) set up a proper rule
note that a lot of rules already exist and you just have to enable em.
both give you a nice yiew on traffic and content.
regards and a happy new year
