Full Version: Proxy Url Syntax
Sephiroth
Argh! Okay.. this is going to make me sound really stupid but...

I forgot the syntax in your average web browser to connect to a proxy and then request a website from that proxy. I would just keep changing the proxy settings in my web browser, but I need to change the proxy Im using almost every web page I load and it gets old fast. So lets say I want the proxy umm.... 80.51.233.34:80 to request www.google.com Where in the following url would I put the '80.51.233.34:80': http://www.google.com ?

Thanks a million!

Some CGI proxies chain by adding cgi paths to the URL like this:
http : / / isecure.dreamhost.com/nph-a2.cgi/http/www.altavista.com

Here is a helpful RFC: ftp://ftp.ripe.net/rfc/rfc2068.txt

there are a few ways to do this, depending on the proxy...
