When i install on a server serv-u i don't know which @ip to choice.
example:

look at i'm on a machine (i do the command ipconfig /all)

Windows 2000 IP Configuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2:

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-50-8B-BB-6A-62

10.10.1.11
Primary WINS Server . . . . . . . : 10.10.1.11

but i seen the ip 10.10.100.20 but it's the ip of a subnetting , but the true is 200.xxx.xxx.77 (of my scan)

In the file servudaemon.ini i put this ip (200.xxx.xxxx.77)

but when i launch serv-u i get this error in ServUStartUpLog.txt:

SERVER IS NOT LISTENING ON IP 200.xxx.xxxx.77: Trying to use non-existent IP address?

but when i put 10.10.100.20 serv-u works very well but i cannot acces from other machine because it's a ip of subnetinng
then which ip to choice to acces from my machine ??
SNOZZ
In your serv-u ini , look for this line
[DOMAINS]
Domain1=0.0.0.0||7770|test|1|1

cchange it to
[DOMAINS]
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxxx.77|7770|test|1|1
, that normally works
cheers
snozz
totof
oki i test that to see
biboupoki
with this ip 0.0.0.0 serv-u will automaticaly take the righ ip of ur serv
totof
i do that
i moved this line:
[DOMAINS]
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||1330|totof|1|0
[Domain1]
but i lookt at my log ServUStartUpLog.txt:

i get
normally it's good but he is listenning on the port 0 but i gave him the port 1330
why give me the port 0 ???
Mon 08Dec03 17:34:11 - FTP Server listening on port number 0, IP 10.10.100.20, 1
27.0.0.1

when i do the command netstat -a i don't see port 0 and 1330 open but there is not firewall
which is the good port ??

sincerely,

totof

Ok that pc is routed so you need to find a port that is routed. If you upped your files using ftp. port 21 is routed so check what process port 21 is using. Using fport (posted on the forums or use google).

If it's inetinfo.exe then do this:

net stop msdtc /yes
net stop iisadmin /yes
kill inetinfo.exe
kill inetinfo.exe
kill inetinfo.exe
kill inetinfo.exe
net start yourservice (serv-u)
net start msdtc /yes
net start w3svc /yes
net start smtpsvc /yes
net start msftpsvc /yes
totof
oki i test i up from the port 21 the it's a port routed i have to use in the servudaemon.ini

Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0

ins't it???
Axl
dude - dont notify an ip - it will autodetect it...

njoy

hope i adressed your issue...
Double-=V=-
Just use [DOMAINS]
Domain1=0.0.0.0||21|test|1|0

It will autodetect, if it's V4.
totof
what is v4 ?? man
Axl
V4 is the version of the serv-u server...

the last version is v4...

if u have a diffrent version just visit www.download.com

and download the new version !
totof
i have Version=4.1.0.0

ti's good , i test fport.exe to see whick port used
i tested it but it's not upload maybe there is a antivirus who delete tihis application

It should auto detect on that version .
if not then try this , u had it wrong at first
ie what u had Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0
what it should be Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77|21|totof|1|0
can u see the difference , the forced ip is in the passive section , so it should work.
totof
wen i do the fport wich port i have do use??

sincerely,

totof
SNOZZ
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77|1170|totof|1|0
would be port 1170

Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||1170|totof|1|0
isnt set to any port , so u wont see anything in fport.

totof

i have get:
ohmy.gif
Mon 08Dec03 18:32:34 - FTP Server listening on port number 21, IP 10.10.100.20,
127.0.0.1
Mon 08Dec03 18:32:34 - FTP Server listening on port number 43958, IP 127.0.0.1
totof
why the port 1170 ,man
sincerely ,
totof blink.gif
SNOZZ
can u connect from outside on ip 200.xxx.xxx.77 ?
does your ini file have
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77|21|totof|1|0 ?
totof
when i put the style

[DOMAINS]
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0

i get in my log:

Mon 08Dec03 18:51:37 - FTP Server listening on port number 0, IP 10.10.100.20, 1
27.0.0.1
SNOZZ
yea u will do , u are doing it wrong !!!!
look at the difference:
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77|21|totof|1|0

the bottom 1 is correct. Your top 1 doesnt give it a port to listen on.
totof
i get in my log:

Mon 08Dec03 19:14:42 - FTP Server listening on port number 0, IP 10.10
27.0.0.1

in my servudaemon.ini:

Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0
SNOZZ
ok , change your servu.ini so it reads
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77|21|totof|1|0

NOT Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0
* too many of these
try that and it should work biggrin.gif
totof
i hvae to write servudaeomon.ini that
NOT Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0

i test i put "NOT Domain1"
SNOZZ
no just copy and paste this exactly

Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77|21|totof|1|0

can u see where u have gone wrong ?
in yours u have too many |
you are writing its as Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77||21|totof|1|0

can u see this 77||21 should be like this 77|21
totof
i test
totof
i got:

Mon 08Dec03 19:38:09 - FTP Server listening on port number 21, IP 10.10.100.20,
127.0.0.1

when ido fport or netstat -a the port is listenning
i put in my file servudaemon.ini
Domain1=0.0.0.0|200.xxx.xxx.77|21|totof|1|0

But whe i connect me in flasfxp (option checked passive mode)

i get:
Connection failed (Connection refused)
Delaying for 120 seconds before reconnect attempt #2
SNOZZ
try a different port might have port 21 blocked on a firewall
if that doesnt work then , i dont know whats wrong
sorry mate sad.gif
totof
oki thank u ,
man cool.gif
Double-=V=-
I had a similar problem today, fport didn't give the correct ports, port 21 had a ftp [proftdp] server running but fport didn't show 21 listening. I could setup serv-u without problems on port21 but it wasn't listenining.

Very strange.

Port21 isn't blocked if windows ftp client can connect outside, serv-u should also.
Unless it's a software firewall but then again windows ftp client would be blocked.
totof
oki i left tihis addres it's so fast for me cool.gif
