Im trying to figure out what went wrong.
I will explain what happend and you guys can help me out find out what happend.


I was on my computer like any other day. I had to decode a few movies so i left. I came back so i decide to turn off my firewall to get on mirc. Because its always giving me problems so i go im like whatevers and close mirc. Ok now we are back in my desktop. Now i go to my room sit there and watch a movie and when i come back i notice that my quick launch icons where gone. So i was like wtf? so i go to internet explorer and it goes into my yahoo page and im about to click on my links but they were all gone. So i was like whoa wtf going on here so i close it and when i do i get this message saying to insert my windows xp pro. cd because some files that it needs are missing so that they can be replace. So by now im like oh shit (filtered) this so i click start and restart my computer. When its booting up it goes to that black and white screen and says that im missing.

missing ntldr
press ctrl alt del to reboot machine.

so now im like .. wtf so i have to format my C drive and reinstall my windows.
ok now im back to my desktop. I go to my D drive which i have all my dvd-r files.
these are my hometapes when i was a kid and family videos. nothing stupid.
ok well anyways i see all the folders that are there, like if nothing happend to my d drive. But when i go to click on one of my folders everything is gone. 300 gigs only using 28mb so now im really pist. Cause of all the decoding time gone to waste.

someone or something (filtered) up my hd files. all deleted.

Ok i would like to know what happend does anyone know what did i get?

well its my fault for disabling my firewall.
But i would still like to know what happend.

Yea plus i dont accept files i hardly use my email. Im the only one that axx this computer i pretty much know how trojans work. So i might be sure that it wasnt a trojan.

any comments or any help would be great.

somwthing with Britney.jpg ??

Cuz if so it was a bug...i had it too and only Format C:\ Helped me..

For future reference, if you get "Missing NTLDR" again, try these steps:

Boot the computer with a Windows startup diskette (preferably 95 or 98)or another bootable diskette with sys.com on it.
At the A:\> prompt type:

IRC.Trojan.Fgt is a downloaded file that disables firewall and security software,it works by sending messages via IRC chat, trying to get people to click on a web link, which would download "britney.jpg" from www.angelfire.com. It deletes critical system files and changes the Internet Explorer home page to a pornographic page.

The website which was responsible for distributing this threat is no longer available. So the worm doesn't work any more (this version).

ahh thanks for all the info guys i might of been that just a different file name. Damn people dont got anything else to do than to do this crap. Oh well i learn my lesson.

Just out of interest did you try system restore ?

i was about to... but i didnt.

Even after a format u can retrieve most files using Getdataback.
