i scanned this the first time when it was rar'd up and it found no beasty, then i unrar'd in and it found the infection, so now i know to scan after they are unpacked

yep this guy got me with the virus and made me format my harddrive
he sent me a message saying Grrrr now i format your HD , it just poped up from out of no where , such sad people in this world its untrue
i cant believe i fell for it , i am glad he lost his account anyway

And for those using McAfee....it's BACKDOOR-<variant>

Just for the record-
You usually won't be able to effectively scan for virus while the file is compressed (zipped), or encrypted.

After you decompress (unzip), or decrypt, you should then scan before you execute.
