hmmm have u tested u`re socks for ftp-support with aatools ? ( aatools --proxy ---settings---FTP- test for ftp support)

Arh right, good point, I`ll check that.

I am away from my own box, and I kinda put this thread together cos its something that has bugged me for a while.

I am guessing those coloured dots that AA tools produces actually mean if its FTP workable wink.gif

I will try setting up a reliable scanstro as a socks too.

Thanks for the feedback.

One final thing, if someone could PM me an old or slow socks that they have confimed works so I can test that its all A-OK that would be fantastic.

At 1st glance, you will probably think "not another noob asking about flashfxp and proxy's".Well, your partly right, but this is something I have tried to achieve for a long time. (I did use the search also)

I know how it should be done, but it has never worked for me. I have entered a list of scanned socks 4/5 proxy's in to AAtools and made sure they are online. And then tried serveral of them, but the result is always the same, either they time out, or they are refused.

I am using quite a new version of flashfxp, and selecting

options\preferences\"firewall/proxy/ident"

entering the proxy type socks and adding the port 1080

e.g.

Connecting to ---DUMP 8---- via Proxy
Connection failed (Connection refused)

any pointers?
