hey

in many postings i read about adding a new admin account by using the net user add command.
i wonder weather the user / admin of that computer won't recognize that on first restart. the new user will appear at the welcome screen - or can you suppress that ? unsure.gif
virus
yes it can be suppressed. If u don't add the user to the Local group eg admin, then it won't show up on the login screen.

aha - what other group then?
normally you would add it to administrators.

try using the $ sign in the username?

just a thought, not tested.

take it you are talking about XP start up screen, becuase on a server it will be shown in the active directory or ntusers.

or you could just enable the guest a ccount with a password or your choice with admin rights.

Use this reg I made. it will make the system not to tell who has logged in last and won't show the users normally. that's what I mean if you're not a noob you can find such things yourself smile.gif

thx i already knew about this reg key. please tell me where you can see the last logged on user and what do you mean exactly with "won't show user normally"?
i started the thread with the problem that the admin will see the new made admin on windows startup (and in computer management). i am not sure if that reg key alone will solve that. dry.gif
aynways thx for your reply - i hope i don't annoy you with my further questions on it.

greetz to all you guys out there
