i have been install linux, when boot it message "Missing oprating system" with /dev/hda . i boot with FDD then don't have above message.

my HDD: 20g with 3 partion:
1.winxp (hide)
2.ext3(active)
3.extention:
+fat32
+fat32
+linux Swap

i can solve this above how?

ge , boot is ok (i forget install boot on hdd (MBR)).
now, with my modem on pci, linuz don't detect it:

oh, ok so you resolved the boot problem.

Well as far as your Intel® 537 Data Fax you are going to have to find some Linux drivers for it. I too a look on google (I have to admit not a long one) and didn't see any. You will probably have to call up the company to ensure there are drivers even available.
