hey guys , i need some help from the pros tongue.gif

i scanned a range for open ports, and not surprisingly most of them have telnet active on port 23 .. nothing weird until now.
i know that usually when u telnet , it asks for an account first and then a password
well i my case it just asks for a password unsure.gif strange ?

so i started bruteforcing with some progs ( unsecure . brutus .. ) still no result : /

this was the message i got :

c:\telnet *.*.*.* 23

If you are not authorized by xXx... ITS logout immediately

User Access Verification

Password:

well anyway, i am just confused about the fact that they dont ask me a username .. just a passwd sad.gif

any clues ? hints or tips ?

ps the other threads on telnet use do not cover this part lol : /
