im assuming your using terminal services (seems verry likely)...
what this means is that while your login information is correct, your account is not permitted to login via terminal services.
you will have to go to properties of the user and click on ther terminal services session tab and modify your settings there first.
by default Administrator should not be able to login via terminal services...

one simple answer: someone (prolly the sysadmin) deleted your user...

net user USERNAME /delete

and you're removed blink.gif

Hi fluffibunni.

Oddly enough, someone shared this information with me today!

The following is an excerpt from Excerpt from http://www.umich.edu/~lannos/windows/w2k-termserv.html

When configuring a W2k server to run Terminal Server, one can choose a "remote administration" setting, which allows a maximum of two administrators to logon, or a more general "application server" setting, which allows many sessions, but requires a license for each session. Most servers will only require the free administrative setting. If you plan to run Terminal Server in application mode, it must be configured to use a Terminal Services Licensing server.

Verify your mode here ---> Administrative Tools | Terminal Services Configuration | Server settings folder.

If terminal services is running in remote administration mode, only accounts with domain privileges can logon using terminal services. Ensure the account you are using is either the "administrator" account (or another name if it has been renamed) or an account that is a member of the domain or enterprise admin groups (careful who you add to these groups).

Worked for me on W2K Server.

Hope this helps.

Man, even if you install Terminal services in Remote Administration mode, by default, only two persons who have administrative privileges can connect the system.. If you want more, you need to buy license from Microsoft.. Same in the case of Application server mode, you need license.. Anyway, keep in your mind that, when you quit from the Terminal window, you should log out normally, Dont just close the window.. Sometimes, you may not be able to log in till the session Reset...
