there is no such "remote tool" that can do this just by scanning however like the previosu poster said virii will do it, but I wish not to get into that area.

of course there are various progs that display the information of a computer , search for info.exe and you'll be able to find them

I guess you are looking for a tool to check services running
on remote computer where you do not have any access (yet),
and to check if it has vulnerbility ON, one of the best tool for
that is NMAP you'll find it here

Norton catches all Trojans, it is hard to do anything on that matter.. Nmapwin is good i guess, i wanna try

I am personally a fan of the Optix Pro series.(RAT)
and there is away to send your victim a file without them downloading anything
um, i heard of this a few month ago, ActiveX vulnerability?

ActiveX vulns are all basically protected by Anti-Virus everywhere... while the Object Exploit that the ppl at GSO have developed (search for it) maybe better off useful, while that has been patched there ar still arrogant people that don't patch around these days and maybe your John Doe is one of them.
