Hi there,
I would like to banner scan the pop3 port (for example) for this banner:
Pop3 Service Cmailserver V4.0,
can someone show me how please?
i grabbed hscan. but which parameters (timeout, MaxHost, MaxThread etc) i should put?
i tried running a scan with the default settings but it seems like it's taking
too much time.. is it suppose to be like this?
thanks in advanced.

Please post in the right forum next time, or else you will be warned. Because this certainly did not need to be in Exploit R & D forum... needed to be in beginners forum.
Thank you

Banners CAN be grabbed from a scanning program, but I prefer to grab them using either Telnet or Netcat.
For POP3, just telnet to the mailserver on port 110. You should get your banners pretty easily.

superscan is the best, for me (4.0) you can set how many line or better how many seconds the banner is grabbing. easy and good, and also a good scanner
