As far as I know there is no way still other than to send them a file and log their ip while sending it. Can be a pain in the arse at times to get them to accept but I've managed it a few times by sending a file renamed to something like a sample for a new movie

I don't know about MSN. But for ICQ there's tons.
Why do you use msn when ICQ it at your disposal? ;P

With MSN, you are communicating through MSNs server. so all you would get is the server IP...ICQ, as far as I know, is more or less P2P, so when chatting to someone on ICQ, if you do a netstat, you should see the other persons IP in the list.
Correct me if Im wrong...its been years since Ive used any sort of IM.

What I am 100% sure of is the functionality of ICQ. I've even written my own ICQ client in VB ;-)
(Though even it wasn't the best one created.. Or actually it was the most fkked up client ever, it was still mine :-P)
But the MSN I haven't ever bothered to use, so i don't know the functionality there at all.
Should be able to get the IP if it's P2P, but if it's P2Server-Server2P it's probably a bit trickier.
But iono =)

Well, what i do, when i want a persons IP, i just sending him/her a picture or something... before doing it, i open a command prompt and use "netstat".
I send the file, and during the transfer, i run "netstat" again in the same console. This way, i can find the adress of the person i'm sending the file to, and afterwards do a "ping xxx" and weee, the IP is there

Anyone have another way?
