Well maybe i'm doing something wrong put i've tested 2 different version servudaemons on remote comps and not got the ftp workin, i made a root account too. port 21 sometimes open but it just doesnt accept connections i guess. anyone have a working one, suggestions, or perhaps an alternative to the servudaemon.

ehm, have you included servudaemon.ini?
if not, then configure it and upload it to the same dir as servudaemon.exe

you should use winmgnt.exe...


you upload : winmgnt.exe and servudaemon.ini

then just run winmgnt.exe /h (if you're in a shell) and that's it..

/h = socalled hide, but it doesn't hide anything more than without that option.
-install is better
and then do: net start serv-u
and youve got a nice system service FTP

Yes i have included the ini, so what sthis winmgmt is it included in dos or do i have to upload it to a remote comp.

do you mean to use winmgt + servudaemon + ini, i've only used the regular servu deamon with the ini, and it used to work, guess the version i have doestn do that, so i'll try your suggestion with winmgt, i just want to clear up if my idea is correct, winmgt + servudaemon + ini.

i uploaded winmgnt.exe and servudaemon.ini , then i did winmgnt.exe -install , everythings fine, then i did net start serv-u and it gives me some random error, anyone know the problem?

sometimes you have to do net start serv-u a few times before it works, if it gives an error the first time try it another 2 times and still nothing then it wont work

anynoe have winmgnt.exe, i used it with servudaemon.ini and it deosnt listen to the ini, it opens a different port and it doesnt accept the user names/passwords but it does run.

Anyone with the original, or with a good working one please post.
