REMACT SYSACT
288.*.*.* [VULN] [....] 5.4
288.*.*.* [VULN] [....] 5.4

Shit happens mate!
Now all you skiddies have to do is sit around and wait for someone else to discover the next big exploit then someone to spoonfeed you code, then to compile it for you!

Thats kind of why I like the Worm, worms get lots of press and at least for a little while people start thinking about patching their systems. Plus the worm wasen't really destructive, it could have done just about anything to a system it wanted to but didn't.
So for the folks that hate it, my question is: do you just want everyone to leave their systems wide open all the time? What sort of challenge is that? The fun in all of this is that it's a ongoing battle, we secure, you hack, we secure more you hack more, and on and on.... Keeps me employed, keeps you entertained.

no need 2 shout.. jeah.. true true true.. but i think bratt is right.. with all the flaming about noobs, dead sploit, r.i.p sploit, kiddies blalalalalalalal etc etc etc.... u doesnt answer his question. I think its a fairly good question so why al the flaming :S :|
although a sploit is dead someone can be interested (only if its just for education)
so i think one should be able to ask a normal question bout it.

There is alot of 5.4 still vulnerable so lets hope a nice person will write another util to exploit that.
flap
Sep 8 2003, 12:44 PM
u dont need another util.. u can do it with the universal dcom sploit version... but its the fact that most ISP's blocked p 135 to protect there clients...

dcom is widely dead... not completely... my guess anyway is your isp are blocking ports 135 4444 and 69 (at least i think it's 69) and the way you've managed to get a shell on your sisters pc is because you are both on a lan and her computer isn't patched.
Either that or give me her ip and I'll clear up the rest of the range
