Full Version: Index.dat Viewer
FLW
This is as the file name implies, view the index.dat file using a standalone exe.

Works well from my testing and the .gov guy that gave it to me.

The indexviewer tool is good, but it changes your search page, which is annoying (at least they tell you that in the agreement screen on the install).

But rather than buy the NoEvidence product that the tool advertises (to remove all the URLs, cookies, temp files, etc. of your browing session), do it all for free, my friends with Spider.

All you need is these 3 files (you can leave out help if you want): Spider (finds the evidence), spiderbite.exe (removes the evidence), and spider.hlp (go ahead, guess).

Just always remember to reboot when spiderbite asks you to, or stuff will be left behind! A pain, but worth it.

Here's the original site http://www.fsm.nl/ward/.

Edited by BN himself: I removed the files due to this notice on the website, so just go to the website. Too lazy to ask for permission....and we play by the rules on this site smile.gif

Index.dat Suite

is a rather unique program that allows you not only to delete the index.dat files, temporary internet files, temp files, cookies and history, but it also allows you to view the index.dat files on your system.

The ability to view these files was only added in v2.0 after we decided we did not like having to use ad-ware/spyware programs to do it, nor did we like going through the files manually.

Index.dat Suite's current features include;

View index.dat files
Delete index.dat files
View and delete Temporary Internet Files (TIF)
View and delete Cookies
View and delete History
View and delete Temp files

auto-generation of batch file to assist in deleting the index.dat files in DOS.
Index.dat Suite is a program we released a while ago, then withdrew due to a major bug. All bug's have now been fixed (as far as we can tell) and Index.dat Suite is now back and bigger than ever

thanks, ComSec. going to check the suite out.

I just don't get it. Why do people still use redirects to danasoft that you pay for? Is it to look smarter?

We've all seen it and know you bought it. I'm underimpressed.

Looks like dat file deletion is only available in cmd line. So why not just use a boot disk, it doesn't seem to have any new features compared to other internet sweeper apps or am I missing something?

for cleaninng your system it creates a batch file you can configure to run from start\shutdown or stand alone.

a lot of index viewers let you just do that...view them most are free...they then have a link to a deleting program that you pay for

how can you comment on something you aint tried ? some like this and some like that.... each is to his own preference... i was just giving our members another option

by adding things to the batch file you can direct it to delete any re-written files you want at any time.
