Is there a benefit to getting track eraser and anonymous surfing internet security software like GhostSurf Platinum ? Is it really worth the money and do they provide adequate protection?

If you don't know how to clean these things manually, stay out of the fire. Some of these apps miss stuff....

In this day and age, regarding internet applications, you should always shop around. As dlproof said, if you want to stay anonymous, you would probably want to use a form of a proxy.

Proxies come in different flavours, Transparent, Anonymous, High Anonymous - sometimes written differently, but they all have 3 main catagories. And you can easily find free, high speed proxies over the internet that should give you atleast an extra form of protection.

As BN said, these programs can miss something, so theres no point paying alot of money when once your system is comprimised just once - only a format will truely bring remove the damage.

IMO, their useless, if your concered about your internet privacy and malware, just be a little more alert - and ask those questions you just have... Dont bother with the program, keep Anti-Spyway / Ad-Aware etc etc up-to-date along with your windows and install FireFox or similar.

Proxies you can find here, Anti-Spyware is free, Up-to-date is logical, and dont worry if your traffic isnt encrypted, during key sections it usually is.
