Full Version: Juniper Dos
packet
Anyone heard any more details on this:

http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/409555

It says directly connected which I'm wondering exactly what that means? Same broadcast network?

Thanks much

Directly connected neighbor or by an attacker that can deliver "certain packets" to the router......... Routing protocol updates maybe? I understand the need to be vague, but what other kind of traffic between neighbors would you normally expect that you wouldn't expect from other hosts? Just my .02.

My theory:
as not all routers support MPLS, it is impossible to send one to the router without being able to directly address the router.

Take a look at this:
http://www.opalsoft.net/qos/MPLS-11.htm

It shows the header structure of an MPLS packet.

Consider that such a MPLS packet arrives at a non-MPLS based router. It expects the IP header after your Layer 2 (be it an ethernet header, ATM, Frame Relay).

Interesting technology though.
